The Vietnamese đàn Tranh is musical representative of the
Entertainment music of the South (Nhạc Tài Tử Nam bộ).
There are different tunings. As the pieces Ngu diem and Bai ta belong to Cantonese tune, the tuning must be as follows: .
Sol          la          do           ré          mi
Hò           xự        xang        xê         cống
Vinh Bao notation system is:
L             U          S             X          C  

Vietnamese music is built on melodic construction and single note colorations.
The đàn Tranh presents an exceptional richness of timbre and subtlely of articulation.
Cantonese tune's ornaments:
Vibrato:        (Rung)                    downward finger pressure on the string with 2 fingers (forefinger and middle)

Taping       (Mổ)                      pluck the string with the right hand finger. The forefinger and the middle finger stuck together  
La           mi                               then tape the string 10 cm apart of the left of the wooden bridge (tape the string then release.
Xự          cống                           it immediately. Mind to keep all the fingers, hands and naturally flexible. Don't get them stiff.

Bend note  (Nhấn vòng)     Put slightly the forefinger and the middle finger on the string.
                                                  Pluck the string with the right hand finger, then with the forefinger press the string to obtain the
